Classwear expansion to create jobs
donderdag, 19 november 2009
School uniform company Classwear is planning to expand its supply chain across Yorkshire after it received a loan from the South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF).
The Sheffield-based firm, which provides embroidered uniforms to six out of 10 secondary schools in Sheffield, is looking to create more jobs with SYIF's £100,000 loan.
The 15-strong workforce provides uniforms for a total of 200 schools in the region.
Andrew Spooner, managing director of Classwear, said: "We have enjoyed massive growth in a very short period of time. Because of the increase in work we need more staff to help meet demand.
"The investment will enable us to employ more people and help increase the number of schools we work with across South Yorkshire."
Andy Chaffer, business director from SYIF, said: "We are pleased to support Classwear with this investment."
He added that the business requires more stock levels to support sales as it is growing quickly.
Mr Chaffer continued: "The company has exciting plans for further growth in the year ahead and we look forward to working with them to help achieve more success."
