Software firm secures new business

Yorkshire retail software specialist Sanderson Group has added a string of high-profile new clients to their order books.
Fashion house Aquascutum, toy retailer Hamleys and haggis-maker MacSween have all enlisted the expertise of the firm, which boasts operation centres in Sheffield, Bradford and Batley.
Sanderson, which supplies and designs software packages for retailers allowing them to accurately monitor sales and stock levels, revealed it had secured more work in the first five months of its current financial year than it did for the whole of 2009.
Despite securing new business and posting strong results, Sanderson chairman Christopher Winn is expected to tell shareholders that the group remains "cautious" about its trading outlook.
"Following a strong finish to the 2009 financial year, I am pleased to report that the group has made a good start to the current year," Mr Winn said.
"Encouragingly, the launch of the new Factory Automation and Business Assurance products and services have enabled the group to win new customers. By the end of February, five months into the current financial year, the group has won more business from new customers than in the whole of the previous financial year.
"Order intake, revenues, profitability and cash generation are ahead of the previous year and in line with management's expectations for the current year."
